A coil of clay looped over itself by hand and pierced once, fired without glaze. Each loop is made freehand so the curve differs; the photographs show two of them.
Unglazed stoneware marks with ash. Over a few months the area around the hole will darken to grey. Some people like that; if you do not, the sand colour hides it better than the chalk.
